$52 million awarded for Resilience Projects

The Virginia Department of Conservation awarded $52 million in state flood resilience grants from the Community Flood Resilience Fund, including $25 million to the city of Norfolk and $2 million to the Middle Peninsula

RISE and Shine: Wetlands Watch

In 2021, Wetlands Watch partnered with Portsmouth and Virginia public schools to launch a new program that provides high school students entry-level sustainable landscapes training and credentials. Funding from Consortium partner RISE Resilience Innovations helped offset the cost of piloting the program.

Grant For Home Raising Academy

Florida-based Resilient Enterprise Solutions won a $260,000 challenge grant from Consortium partner Rise Resilient Innovations and launched the first of its kind Home Raising Academy. Debuting in 2020, it was targeted to Hampton Roads professionals in both the public and private sector – architects, engineers, general and specialty contractors, city planners and emergency and flood management experts.
